The skydiving center "FSZ Saar" is located circa 30 minutes west of Saarbrücken in southwest Germany. We can easily be reachedfrom Frankfurt, Cologne, Koblenz, Trier, Mainz, Wiesbaden, Mannheim, Heidelberg, Karlsruhe, Kaiserslautern or Luxembourg. We offer a large variety of activities for experienced skydivers, but also welcome beginners who want to experience the fascination of skydiving in a tandem jump or even wish to complete an AFF training and acquiere a skydiving license.
In order to go skydiving on your own, you need a corresponding licence. To obtain a German parachuting licence, you need to perform at least 25 free fall jumps (including 2 exam jumps) and pass a theoretical test. You may obtain a licence from us by passing an AFF course (i.e. a basic course) and subsequently "completing" the course.
During the first jump, two AFF instructors maintain contact to the student during the entire process, from exiting the plane until the opening of the canopy.Apart from familiarizing the student with the experience of free fall, this level already includes certain learning elements during the free fall phase (ca. 40-50 seconds). The student's tasks include maintaining a correct body posture, constant monitoring of your altitude, maintaining eye contact to your instructors, pulling practice and opening the canopy at an altitude of 1500 meters on instructors' command. With each subsequent jump, the tasks of the participant will gain in complexity and responsibility.
An introductory course gives you the opportunity to get a first real-life impression of this fascinating sport. Introductory courses include all essential elements of the preparatory ground schooling, but only one level 1 jump of the AFF course, just to get a first impression.
Select a date for your AFF introductory course of full training. Dates indicated refer to ground school lessons. Practical skydiving lessons normally start on the third day of training. Just complete and submit the following form to register online.
Flying is one of man's most ancient dreams – and now you can live that dream! A tandem jump gives you a direct experience of the excitement during a free fall. The ascent, the jump, the speed during free fall, gliding under the canopy – it all creates a breathtaking experience beyond description.
If you are at least 140 cm tall, at least 12 years of age, weigh less than 95 kilos, nothing stands between you and your tandem jump.
We regularly offer trainings and seminars for licensed skydivers of all levels (beginners and experts).
For freshly licensed skydivers, we recommend canopy flight seminars and relative work trainings. They offer an opportunity to build on your newly acquired free fall and canopy skills and allow you to enjoy skydiving in a more secure and more fun way.
At FSZ Saar, we are committed to providing ideal training conditions for existing and newly formed competition teams.Teams are very welcome at FSZ Saar!
As a consequence, our airfield infrastructure is focused on trainings for all kinds of teams.
Our two Cessna Caravan guarantee short trip times, increasing the number of possible jumps per day. Our hangar was only built in 2011. It provides ample space for packing and also serves as an indoor creeping area. To complete our offering for a successful training, we provide modern team rooms and competitive prices.
Max Thiele, Thomas „Spieli“ Spielvogel and Markus Bastuck are experienced RW instructors at FSZ Saar who have been successfully participating in German and international competitions for many years.
The name refers to the number of skydivers involved (each team consists of eight skydivers plus one videographer) and the type of judging. In this context, “speed” refers to the fact that during the competition, the time is measured between the exit of the first skydiver until the completion of the first circle formation (star). The measured time will determine the final result, along with awarded points. After the star formation, 2-3 other formations must be performed. The competition consists of six rounds of jumps. In recent years, it has become increasingly popular. It is an open secret that the competition is normally followed by the so-called “evening judgment/evaluation/event”. But you will have to find that out for yourselves. Dates and announcements concerning our 8-way speed competition can be found in the "Dates and downloads" section of our homepage. Further information and application forms for the 8-way speed competition are available here: info[at]fsz-saar[dot]de
This is definitely a fun event! In the beginning, the participants are divided into three groups (beginner, advanced, experienced). Then they draw lots for teams, i.e. different levels of experience are mixed and teams are generated randomly. That way, the participants come into contact with new skydivers, and beginners may benefit from the experience of more advanced skydivers during the competition and the subsequent debriefing. Dates for our scramble events can be found in the “Dates” section of our homepage. Further information and application forms for the scramble are available here: info[at]fsz-saar[dot]de
We regularly offer relative work trainings for beginners and experienced skydivers. RW trainings are aimed at all people who wish to improve their formation skills. As such, they are recommended for our former students after completion of their AFF training.According to their individual skills and experience, participants will be divided into different groups. Depending on individual expertise, it is possible to work on specific items. Of course, closed groups are also welcome to our trainings. All jumps will be accompanied by an external videographer or an instructor. Dates for our RW trainings can be found in the “Dates” section of our homepage. For prices of RW trainings, please see our price list. Further information and registration:info[at]fsz-saar[dot]de
Soon it's time again for THE freefly summer event of the year! Based on the experience gathered over the last years, the 2015 event will again offer a full range of activities. The planning is on, we will have three planes for the event and also plan to explore new ways with regard to load organizing.About the festival: We all know the phenomenon – our activities are focused too much on our own airfield, and as a consequence, we miss great opportunities to skydive with other skillful skydivers. While our community is still small, we have grown and made significant progress over the last couple of years. However, this does not mean that new people with no free fall experience are excluded – on the contrary! The festival explicitly welcomes skydivers from all experience levels. Being able to sit fly is the only requirement. Individual coaching sessions are not part of the schedule but can be arranged on site.
